Bhutan was ranked 40th out of 163 countries in the 2010 Environmental Performance Index (EPI) produced by a team of environmental experts at Yale University and Columbia University in the US. Released yesterday at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, Bhutan scored 68 on the EPI scores.

Class XII results out
The results of the 2009 BhuÂÂtan Higher Secondary EduÂÂcation Certificate ExaminaÂÂtions (BHSEC) show a slight improvement. The aggregate pass percentage has risen by 0.82 points, from 85.60 perÂÂcent in 2008 to 87.35 percent in 2009.
Out of 6,530 students who sat the examinations last DeÂÂcember, 603 students – 313 males and 290 females – failed.
