29 October, 2007 - Thimphu, the worldÂs fastest growing city, is experiencing a quiet culinary revolution. Thanks to enterprising restaurateurs in the city, gourmands can try out a variety of cuisines from Middle Eastern to American fast food to Italian, Chinese, Thai and Indian.
The revolution perhaps took root years ago when tourism began in 1974 and opened the floodgates for gourmet foods for dollar paying tourists. A number of Bhutanese went out to train as chefs and in time branched out to set up their own places to eat.
