22 November, 2007 - A fire, that erupted inside the house of Pem Dechen in Chengmari, Samtse dzongkhag on November 17, would have proved fatal had it not been extinguished in time. Although what now remains of the house is only burnt out walls and blackened CGI sheets. The gutted house, situated near the Chengmari dratshang, was also located near a paddy field full of dry paddy ready for harvesting.

21 November, 2007 - Between November 17 and 19, the PeopleÂs Democratic Party held a series of familiarisation meetings in the southern district of Samtse, covering three of the four constituencies with a voter population of 30,917 voters in Tendu, Bara, Sibsoo, Biru, Yoeseltse, Ugyentse, Samtse and Chengmari.
